TIME FLIES WHEN YOUR HAVING FUN!!!

January and February update.......
I can't believe how fast time goes and how much Elysa has grown physically, developmentaly and mentally. She has gone from a little girl who just sat still in one place and played quietly with a toy to one who is running around, chattering non-stop, and talking with English and Mandarin words we have taught her, as well as with gobbly gook that we can't understand... but she sure is trying to get a point across to us. She is such a gem!! She makes us laugh and smile everyday. We are so grateful to have her in our lives and just can't imagine life without her.

From now on I am going to try and post more regularly, as this is all info I am going to use for her lifebook and scrapbook. Since I haven't been posting regularly, I have been reminded by, and surprised at how many people check this site and are interested in our lives with Elysa. For that I am grateful. Please don't hesitate to leave us notes on a post or in the guestbook as all these beautiful comments will be shared with Elysa one day.

We are in the midst of pursuing more info about elysa and her first 10months of life in China through china-babies.com who will help us get as much of a history report as possible by interviewing the orphanage, foster mom, and person who found Elysa with questions they ask and those that we added and wanted asked. We also hope to then establish ongoing contact with the foster mom. Elysa's foster mom will be the best info we can get about Elysa's life before we met her (at least until maybe someday when we could actually make contact with the biological mom and dad). We are really looking forward to getting as much info as possible and doing it now while everyone may be easily found, contacted and talked to.

On with the picts as I know that's why people come here......

Daddy, look at me......taken immediately after finding our little girl shaking the powder bottle all over.....now every time she sees it or even tries to get a hold of it she immediately starts shaking, hmmm, what a fast learner we are...

Our girl loving her books....

Our little conductor....she loves the Little Einstiens

Play date with cousin Aidan

First drink from a big girl cup...not one spill....

Big Girl...Moving to her own room...we celebrated with a stuffed animal and balloon. She sleeps so much better in her own room, and goes in on her own now, turns her music on, rings her good wishes chimes and says night-night to all her stuffed animal friends and friends and family in photo frames.

Not sure what we were thinking on this outfit...but like we say she could make a paper bag look good...

A girl and her dog.....

Opening her Chinese New Year Hong bao (good luck envelope)

Coins and dollars, oh my...SCORE!!

Visit with fellow "sister" JoJo before Chinese New Year Celebration....

I could not get both of them to look up at the same time with their beautiful smiles

What beautiful girls.....

She loved the celebration and the lion dance until they got to close

She loves to do the wheelbarrow walk

get that girl into tumbling...

First snowman and snow angel....

how can one little girl make such a big mess in so little time...she loves getting into the recycled paper bin....

discovered she can get herself into her baby stroller....

Our trendsetter in the making on her own runway...She can put these boots on by herself, so they have become her favorites.

Hey Tina and sweet Elysa -

I was so happy to read your post this morning. I can't believe what a big girl you have now. Don't you wonder where your baby went? We're feeling it too. :) Sounds like you're loving life and doing great. I'll be curious to hear what you find out from china-babies. I hope that they have good luck in their search for you. What a cool opportunity.

Now for the photos...We like the book photo. Hope is loving books around here too and we seem to have them ALL out at the same time from one end of the house to the other. She carries around the purple photo book you sent almost every day and talks about her friend "Lissa." :) AND...of course we love the powder pic. I bet in the midst of the "OH, NO!!!" and other exclamations, you couldn't stop laughing. :)

Beth & Hope

P.S. Hope has the same stroller, too. FUN.

P.P.S. OH! I almost forgot to say Congrats on movin' in to your own room E!

Hi,

I am happy to see you blogging again. I've missed reading your posts. Thanks for sharing information about the company that works to find out more information on adopted children. I am interested to see what they turn up for you. I think it's sad that we are given so little information about our children. Any little detail is precious.
